I just joined last week because i recently inherited 2 VFRs from my father when he passed away. He owned a 2007 25th anniversary interceptor and a 1987 interceptor. The 07 is now my daily ride and i love it but im not sure what i want to do with the 87. I think it would be cool to restore the bike but im not sure how much work it might take or if its worth it. On the other hand im considering finding someone who would want to buy the bike that would want to restore it. I can post pics if anyone wants to see and some advice in the right direction would be great. Thanks

My dad was still riding the bike daily when he bought the other bike in 07 and i dont think its been turned over sinse maybe 09. He always said it still ran great even though it had 180k on it. The fairings are fairly beat up and the title has a non op on it. Ill have some pics up soon

heres the 07 the day of my first real ride on the bike. I had just stopped and the kickstand didnt engage all the way sadly letting the bike fall and break off the mirror.

OUCH!!! don't feel bad about it, the dropsies have happened a lot around here...

I dropped mine once because I was trying to act suave infront of a bunch of college girlies...didn't even get the kickstand down before I started leaning it over....

layed her down nice and gentle like right in front of them....LOL

I may take you up on that hand if your only in Sacramento. If I could easily get the bike running again I'm guessing the biggest cost of restoring it may be the fairings. I'll see if I can get some pictures up of the damage that I can see but it may not be till the weekend

nice "Me First" mentality there, Reg! 180K? True testament on how good these bikes are. Welcome, and enjoy the stay.

Don't worry he may not touch it for a while. I'll see what I can do with it on my own first. And I had another look at the odometer and it's actually almost at 200k. The guy at the local honda shop had told my dad he should call honda because he had never seen one go that long.

Very cool inheritance. I like the 87. Fix her up, it's too pretty to not do it. I would like to have one someday.
