Wondering around what should i expect to pay from a private seller for an 06 in good condition?

$4600-5400+- condition, miles, etc. If the bike has higher mileage 16k you will probably need some work like chain + sprockets, new plugs. Since you are buying used, probaly tires. Also, a fresh oil change and may need brakes. Whith low miles it may still have original tires so you will want off those.

All easy stuff to do yourself and plenty of people on here ready and willing to help you out. Welcome aboard.

    Welcome

I think Bitterpil's price estimate above is accurate but keep in mind that 2006 was the only year the 6th Gen was produced in White so you will probably have a difficult time locating one unless you are patient and willing to fly somewhere and ride the bike back. The valve clearance check is also scheduled around 16k miles if I'm not mistaken and this is a costly procedure at the dealership so you can probably negotiate a few more dollars off the sales price if applicable to you. Good luck with your search!!

The price difference will be minimal. The 6th Gen VFR was produced for 8 years and there were only a few minor changes made between the models over the years. 2006 is when most of the electrical gremlins finally got sorted out and also the VTEC engagement rpm was lowered by a few hundred RPM. Mechanically speaking the 2006 and the 2007 are the same bike except for the color. The 2007 was available in the Red White Blue Anniversary scheme or Candy Metallic Red which I think is gorgeous. Honda has a good reputation for reliability and since this bike is not being produced anymore I think the prices will remain pretty stable

Minimal diff. Lots of red, white and blue available. I think a 1k-1800.00 more to get a new 07. Just something for you to keep in mind. I just thought if you opened your search to an additional year, you may increase your success.

there may still be some brand new 2007's still around as well, just need to search. Still get the warranty, a brand new bike that you don't have to wonder how hard it was ridden or if it has been down. Just something to think about.

When I was looking a few months ago there were several 07 RWB still on the showroom floor on the east coast. $6500 seemed to be about the going rate.
