Cheers VaRollOn, BUT...the bike was in neutral...and I checked double checked changed gear several times and it was definately in neutral...seems like an intermittent fault on the neutral light. It wouldn't go with the side stand down and clutch pulled in because it still thought it was in gear.

I wasn't trying to patronize you, sorry if it came off that way...

Even if the bike thought it was in gear it should start with the clutch in...even with stand down, it sounds like more than just the light sensor. The clutch itself may not be engaging all the way. I'd check clutch lever adjustment etc.. first. Or the killswitch might be toast and only recognizing clutch engagement intermittently.

Sorry if that's no help:caked: I'll go back under my rock:yo:

My 06 won't start with the stand down, in gear or clutch in.

Varollon, apologies myself, I was just trying to emphasise that I did know about the various switches being a Honda owner for the last 20 years, Just perplexed me that the light didn't come on for neutral, that in turn through me as to why it wouldn't start with the clutch pulled in.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments about the bike. I'm loving it more everyday
