so i just got the may issue of motorcyclist and saw the add for Bilt boots that ended on 4/30/11 thought i would call cycle gear and see if the where still on sale for $70.spoke to a rep and was able to get them with free shipping. they where delivered on Friday so far the seam to be a great boot for the price full leather with perforations hard plastic on the heal and ankle fit seam to be spot on i where a size 12 in street shoes and the size 12 boot fits great. ill will post some pix of them anyone out there have them or any of bilt's other stuff? ( theny have a full set of leathers with boots and gloves for 499 )
I saw these also in that issue of motorcyclist. Price seems good but I've never heard of the brand. Probably safer than the Icon SuperDuty type riding boot but probably not up to the SIDI type racing boot. Just my 2 cents. Who knows, I could be completely wrong. All this coming from a guy who is still wearing a pair of older SetUp raceing boots with a melted heal gaurd from when I owned my Speed Triple
I'll have to keep them in mind when I go for new boots. I just had my Alpinestars smx re-zippered for the second time and re-heeled for the first time. If you remember post up your thought in the fall on how they wore in over the season.
update on the Bilt boots i have been wearing them on short rides to and from work / around town everyday and they have been great. ( wore them at my night job last Friday ) did a 150 mile loop in them on Saturday 3 June and i can say is i forgot i was wearing them. so far i am very happy with them!
