my 84 VF500 needs a new water pump. i have an 86 vf500 donor bike . are the water pumps interchangeable? i know that many parts are but some are not. any advise will be awesome
One good way to check something like this is to see if part #s match, but sometimes #s get updated, so not always reliable. In the case of your VF, i would very strongly suspect the pumps are the same, and change- over would be easy once the cooling system is drained. "Invisible Cities" has paid his dues and has the definitive answer to most VF500 questions..........
thanks squirrel , i checked bike bandit and there stock numbers are the same for both years. visually they look the same but i wanted to be sure before i ripped everything apart.
