Can I start bike in gear?

Hi I have a 1987 VFR 700 F2.
If I stall the bike, is there a way of restarting without selecting neutral?
Pulling in clutch doesn't work, what will?

Pulling in the clutch should do the trick, you need to check the switch and the connections.

there seems to be a few oddities on this bike.. the run/stop switch will not stop the engine when used but will not let the engine start if engaged, strange.
One final thing, how is the pro arm conversion working out, on the 750/700

If the clutch switch and associated wiring is OK, you might try replacing the diode that controls the starter interlock circuit.
