VF700F Running Badly

I need a little help please.

I have spent several months saving a 1985 700 Interceptor from the junk yard and have now just about finished it, Among the things I did was to have Billy C rebuild the carbs and he did a great job. The problem is this. The bike starts, and idles just fine, it will rev to about 3000 rpm just fine too. Above about 4000 rpm it is fine as well but between 3 and 4000 it coughs and splutters and is just plain ill. It has new plugs and wires.

Any help would be much appreciated.

gravity feed? compression? carbs synched on the bike? new insulators? all the vacuum lines plugged in or capped off?

 

should have a fuel pump feeding the system. check carb synch. I fixed an SRAD 600 that had this issue recently, carbs were out of synch.
