New owner, used VFR. Hello

Hello, So, I'm a member of another motorcycle board . Every time I get a new to me bike, I join the matching forums and learn what I can.

I just aquired a 2005 VFR, love it for what it is, a do all ST. It does everything I bought it for and I'm really happy with the purchase.

I've owned several dozen bikes but never a sport tourer, it was a tug-of-war between a ST4s or the VFR, I'm glad I choose the Honda.

I'm sure I'll have questions, but for now, I'm just doing the normal board sign in stuff.

Lower Lake, CA = 1300 ft above sea level, in the "mountains" 2 hours NE of San Francisco and just about the same NW of Sacramento. 0.5 hours to Berryessa :wink: 2.0 hours to the coast, 2.0 hours to the Sierra Nevada's. If you use Google maps you'll see the lake I live at the south end of - Clearlake, right above Berryessa.


On a side note, I'm trying to plan a Fathers Day ride next month from Clearlake to Northern Arizona, any suggestions. So far my route only goes as such.

From my house next to Morgan Valley rd.

Morgan Valley to Hwy 128
Hwy128 to I505
I505 to I5
I5 to Hwy4
Hwy4 to Hwy89
Hwy89 to Hwy395

then, hmmm, not sure, up for suggestions, or what section would you suggest I repost this question. I'm totally open to suggestions

This is a reference to the yearly get-together that moderator Reg71 has in Central California for all members crazy enough to show up. You just missed this years event so make your plans for next year!

On the trip planning - I'm gonna throw a thread up at ADVrider and see what I get for suggestions, I'm starting to think that going south on 395 to Death Valley will be the most fun, then cutting east through Vegas. I don't really want to ride across the desert, but I can't see a better route to the Grand Canyon.

I wish I had suggestions for you on your route, but I live in CO and have never really driven in your neck of the woods. Take pictures on your ride too though, wherever you go.
