Sorry if this is the wrong section, but I didn't see a section for parts. While cleaning my carbs I found that one of my diaphragms has a tear in the rubber. Does anybody have an extra one I could buy from them or does anybody know where I could get one. The part has been discontinued now which is why I'm asking.

Thanks, and again its a 1984 vf700f carburetor diaphragm.

    Nick

I had an 84 magna with the same problem. Anything used that's that old will have the same issue. Wound up buying new diaphrams from Honda dealer. Yep, they ordered them and 4 days later I had them installed. Some things just can't be replaced with used. For all the other used motorcycle parts I was looking for this website helped. Used Motorcycle Parts - Search top motorcycle salvage yards Plastic side covers in great shape and the right color!

The best you could do to try a fix is use super glue. It was made for gluing rubber originally. Just a tiny amount on one edge of the tear. Then carefully stick the other side to the glue side. It will stick fast so be accurate the first time. It will glue together like one piece. But may leave a harder seam where it is glued and might not be as flexible, may be. So use just what is needed.

I'd try that in a pinch first. The best super glue I've found is made by permatex. My local Drug Mart has it for $2.
