Now that my speedo is 11% off with the 18T front sprocket, I figure I best mount the Garmin on the bike. Got a warning from a nice understanding TX DPS officer this evening and don't want to go there again. Any suggestions? Awesome machine...:)

    thanks!

Thanks AZ-found a stem mounted ball (already had the cradle and stuff) and a shorter-1" ball link from GPS City I think it was. This should do the trick. Also found a speedo calibrator on ebay...not clear what exactly this does, waiting to here back from the seller. It sounds like it should be able to "adjust" the speedo/odo accuracy to compensate for the different sprocket gearing. Hope so anyways...

Thanks for that info! The item on ebay ~80.00 sounds like it does much the same as the healer just waiting to hear back to make sure. Looks like its just a plug in module of some sorts that is adjustable.

seems simple enough. MAYBE the only hard part is that you don't see the actual number and just see blinking lights.
by the way, i don't know what the shipping is to you, but if it is the one you are talking about, then this site has it for $10 cheaper.

edit: oh, duh it says "free shipping" on the upper left hand corner. i usually ignore those since most of the time it doesn't apply to hawaii.

Ended up getting the VRD calibrator from Motomummy and works like a charm. Odd that the stock speedo was only 5% off (per
Garmin GPS) when it should havd been like 12.5% off with the 18T front sprocket. Assuming my math is all good...

i think that from the factory, the stock speedo reading is slightly optimistic. i don't remember because it has been a while, but i think when it said i was going 70, i was actually going 63... something like that.

so with your +12.5% for your gearing, and assuming a -10% for the factory error, it kind of puts it in the ballpark of your %5 error. in any case, i think you are fine.
