I goosed my 5th gen in first the other day to see how she would get off... It lifted, I damn near browned my trousers, and i don't think I intend to do it again.

Back when I had a 4th gen I rode over to the Honda shop and ended up taking a 5th G out for a test ride (I was a frequent customer, not sure they would let everyone do that...they also maybe thought I would upgrade).
On a service road a few miles away I twisted the throttle (in first or second) to see how much stronger the new FI motor was, and lofted the front higher than I had ever done before, without any clutch - scared the piss outta me. Never experienced that on my 4th G OR my 5th G after that, and with so little warning. Not sure why, it must be my weak wrist.

    Accidental Wheelie, THIRD TIME

    WELL

today was warm enough to ride so I went out. Come to find that the roads are in good condition since the recent ice and went ahead and let her rip.

    This time...THIS TIME...

I was in full "hard" riding position. I was hugging that tank like a fat kid on an ice cream machine.

I had those bars gripped like Kanye West grips a microphone.

    And dude....

that frond wheel came off again! :party2:

Hey man, take that front wheel off, take it behind the woodshed, find a big stick, and tan its hide. And say "dont ever do that again". HEHE

it's not very hard to pop wheelies on my 07, just pop the clutch and there it goes, but my first wheekie ever was at a light I was waiting to turn right on my 88 yamy radian (yx600) and I had the bike for about 2 weeks and I saw a couple of hogs sitting at the light so I guess I gunned it a bit too hard I guess and the front came right on up while I was turning and gave me a heck of a startle and that thing only has about 80 hp and 45 lb-ft torque, I didn't expect that at all but on my viffer, I pulled a few wheelies and it was still scary because of how much more it weighs compared to the radian I had, I didn't think it would lift because of the massive 500+ lbs, she is one heavy girl that will jump up if you aren't careful with the throttle.

After careful review of this old thread, I would like to make on thing clear. Yes, I weigh 160 lbs. I would call that a "wittle guy". However, I would like to make clear that it is not to imply that my weight is equally distributed ...

Have yet to have this happen to me :( I'm 175lbs, but live at altitude so a bunch of my power is robbed right from the start so I will probably have to try to make it happen. Maybe one day, but I like having both wheels on the ground for now

Hell every now and again, just hard in first gear and the VTECH kicks in and I will get up a bit!
