Emon, I have RedWing steel toe oxfords and they are as comfortable as slippers for my 11 EEs, I recently got some of their leather sandals. I wish that they made sportbike boots, but I am married to Harley product for cruisers due to job.

Thank god this is the week for boot threads. I got a question, since the sidi's is my first pair of pure sport riding boots, should my heel move a little bit like it is now? I got size 45's because the 44's seemed real tight, should I've got the 44's and let them stretch out over time? Because my Nike's size 44.5's fit me perfect. I wish Sidi made 44.5's

RW-- Which model are they? I wouldn't expect Sidi boots to stretch much as many have a heel cup, I would leave a little room as your feet will swell a bit hot. Tight in the store is definitely too tight.:yo:

We sold a ton of Sidi boots, and they do run small and narrow. I'm a 12 generally so I have to be really careful between 11.5 equivalent and 12! Euro sizes oh the pain!

11.5 is a 46 not such a pain as you get it figured out, so RW, if your a 10.5 a 44 will work, so get use to it.. :)

I wear Size 10 1/2 on everything and 44's on all AlpineStars, these are Sidi Strada Evo Tepors, the 44 fit me tight so I thought the 45's would be perfect, Everything is perfect on the 45's but the heel, my heel comes up every time I take a step, hopefully that will go away over time, I think if Sidi made a pair of 44.5's, they would fit me perfect...

Boot brother RW-- I have the same one's without the Tepor membrane. You will love them. Better a little big than a little small, you can always wear a bit thicker socks, its not like you are running a marathon in them!:caked:

Enjoy, they damp vibration excellently and the thin profile gives great feel on the controls. I used to wear cowboy boots for this reason. I could never ride in the "redwing" style due to thickness feeling like my feet wouldn't fit. Size 12 clunkers!

Your killing me Rich  It's a boring rainy day in Washington and nothing else to post on so I thought I'd whine about the fit of the Sidi's. And remember, there is nothing to fear but fear itself when you take off that Sargent :pound:

I only agreed on the Redwings for those that have extra wide needs and their engineer boot isn't all that bad, as I've used it when I go to work in the field. but given the choice it's a no brainier what I'll wear on rides.

People have asked about wide sized boots. Ran into a site that has EEE ... crusier style with a side zipper. Protection and walking comfort it says ....

I used to wear my RedWing steel toe oxfords due to the extreme engineering that I was doing and the high possibility of something falling off a system and onto my feet.

Since I'm at a Harley shop nowadays, I'm going to start wearing them for comfort and the event that I have to kick someone in the sack!:caked:

Anyone here have narrow (B or C width) feet like me? I would love to get a pair of riding boots, but I tried on few pairs of Oxtars and my feet were swimming in them. I assumed that most or all boots would be similar, so I just gave up on looking and don't feel like ordering and returning 10 pairs of boots trying to find a pair that fit right. I saw someone write that the Sidi boots run a little narrow. Also, just how are riding boots supposed to fit? Like regular shoes or tight - like climbing shoes? Any suggestions out there? BTW, thanks for starting this thread JRJ.

If anyone is really interested in Sidi's, the way I did it was to take the thickest pair of socks (a brand new pair of Thorlo Combat Boot Socks, HIGHLY recommended in fact, all my casual and military socks are Thorlo) I ever intended to wear in them with me when I bought them. I made sure the fit was just a little snug. Now that my socks have worn it a little, they fit perfect. I have normal width feet as well. Just a little FYI.

    KC-10 FE out...

I wear Alpinestars SMX-? Whichever is the cheap one. They work pretty well for me. I don't have probs walking and they are sporty without looking like some kind of weirdo in the grocery store. ;)

I bought a pair of actual "Honda" brand boots... they say "Goldwing" on the sole and everything. They're very well made, and don't look too "technical." (I prefer a black leather, no-frills look myself.) Probably not good for the track, but they're great for real-world riding.

I picked 'em up for $99 at a local shop. It was a poorly-researched impulse buy but I'm very happy with them. :)

RW--he must not shift much.:caked: Just kidding RVFR, I swear though riding in thicker boots, when I've had to, did make ME LAZY. Just couldn't get my sh!t moving.

I like wearing them, my Danner's in particular. Now if I put a heel-toe shifter on the VFR,,, then we're in business!!!!!!!!!:boink:

Well since Red wing has been talked about so much in this thread I'm gonna give my input, I'm a construction dude and have worn Wings for 25 yrs or so and the last 2 pair of Wings have killed my feet, the boots I used to buy had hand made insoles, now they use some funky rubber type insert, I limp off the job at the end of the day, tomorrow I'm taking my 2 wk old boots back and get my dollars back, 30 days they say if they don't fit right, I'm sure they will fight me! By the way I have a pair of 20 yr old cowboy type Wings that fit like a glove, I'm not happy with the quality and prices of Wings nowaday, excuse me for the rant.

I've got a pair of SetUp boots, had them for nearly 6 years. Been pretty happy with them. Very comfortable, no problems wearing them all day. They're starting to wear badly inside, I'm starting to wonder what boot to get next.

They use European sizes, I had a pair of Falco boots prior to these that were size 44, the SetUps that fit me were also size 44.

First of all, cheers from Afghanistan (a.k.a. the "other war").

I ride in my most broken-in pair of black jungle boots that I've had for 8 yrs. The same boots I ruckmarch in and jump out of airplanes with. They are very comfortable and the soles have been worn down, so they are easy to shift with. They are my feets' best friends.

    Great thread, BTW...

Can anyone tell me why its worth all the money you are required to spend on a pair of boots that are only good for riding? Sell me. I am all ears....

I am all about the "multitasker", therefore, I have a hard time justifying the motorcycle boot purchase. I need to know how much safer and comfortable they are before dumping that kind of money on myself....anyone?

    Thanks!
