Was wanting to know if any one out here in VFR land that has a 94-97 VFR in where they installed a jet kit. looking for pro's and cons and anything else? What was your reasoning, why? Did it work for the better? Did you use a before and after dyno run?

I have a jet kit, but haven't installed it as of yet. I'm waiting to get my Micron pipe, and either a Predator, or Motad exhaust system, and then have them Jet-Hot coated. I also want to do an initial dyno run prior to the install. Looks like it'll be May before I get everything back in the mail I'll let you know when it's all done though, if you haven't beat me to a finished project. I'm trying to do one system at a time, easier to chase down gremlins that way. I'm just starting the process of a CBR 954 front fork transplant. Another reason for the exhaust delay.

On my 4th gen I had added a K&N air filter to it and the bike ran so good I didnt want to touch it. When I checked the plugs - they had the most perfect tan color you could want for a combustion check. So I stuck with the stock exhaust. Maybe if I went to a slip-on I would have fiddled with it.

BTW - there is a two bros 4th gen FULL header for sale on Ebay right now. Geez if I still had the 4th gen I would scoop it up. They werent asking much either.

I saw that TB. Same here Mello cept for one thing I too have the K-N but with a staintune took, it to the dyno and things where pretty much right on, cept for it was a wee bit rich, Mike valsco didn't belive it would be worth fidleing with the carbs as thats a lot of work that and it would only maybe make another 2 possible HPs. Mike says just get some good Hi octain fuel, that'll fix it, then there was the thinking that a wee bit rich is good for altitude running too, I'm just curious to find out what others have found out, if anything.
Oh BTW vales at 32K where spot on except for one exhaust valve which was a itsie bitsie lose, but still within the limits. also what was crazy after all the fiddling with carb sincs etc. only a gain of .7 hp. 97.1 to 97.8 Mike was pretty impressed as she really ran well. But I was hoping to make 100hp oh well.

Everything I have read about the Factiry jet kits has been wonderful. Dyno Jet reviews have been so-so, and I have a Dyno jet Stage 1 in the 97. We already spoke about were my HP measured, which was OK at 92 HP.

So if you do it, get a Factory kit!

Ah yes, funny you brought that up, that was the other reason Mike said what he did, unless some one has one sitting on the shelf, there's none to be had as HRC quite making them some time ago. He did mention if you could get your hands on one then it would be worth it. I'd get one if I could find one. Yep heard the same thing about Dynojet kits

I remeber Two Brothers was selling stage 1 factory jet kits for the 90-97 years. I just got off their website, and now they only have dyno jet kits.

You were provided very good information! Well, keep an eye out on e-bay!

I was` fortunate and got my jet kit on Ebay, and it's a factory brand unit. If I remember right, they still sell them on their website...

Use the search feature in the upper left hand corner. Hopefully I'll be ordering one of their shift improvements kits from them soon.
