Does anyone know where i can get the four float bowl o rings or the correct o ring material to make them with. I went to the local bearing house and purchased four o rings that were too big and cut and spliced them too the correct length checked for leaks on the bench (left fuel in the carbs for three days) everything was fine no leaks. I then drained the fuel out and left the carbs on the bench until I could finish my other projects then about two months later I installed the carbs, fired it up and fuel just puked out everywhere.
Off with the carbs again and removed the float bowls to check for the problem which was apparent as soon as I removed the first float bowl and the o ring fell out, when I tried to put it back in the groove it is now about an inch too long, same thing on the other float bowls. Obviously not Gas/Ethanol resistant.

    K&L Supply makes a set of 4 gaskets part # 18-2675 for about $30.

Surprise to me too....Turn out that Seigfried Marcus invented the 1st "carburetor" in 1864.

Harley should use the original 1864 design to go with there current Vtwink engine design, keeping with the olds school theme.

I just got a set of bowl gaskets (o-rings) on ebay for about 12 bucks including shipping. They weren't pre-formed but with a couple dabs of super glue it took about 10 minutes to get all four in and the bowls back on.

He still has 2 sets available:

Meh, just get the K&L's and stop trying to make a circle fit in a square peg.

I don't consider myself a cheapass, but for 10 minutes of extra work, I'll save $18. YMMV!

K&L Supply only supplies to dealers so I am now looking for a Canadian dealer who deals with them, I am not adverse to making the orings but having done that once I would prefer the correct parts also I will replaced the float valves while I am at it, as I don't enjoy removing and installing the carbs.

This link I posted is o-rings, but they are the right size. You just have to get them to stick in the corners. Very easy.
