2011 VFRW Southeast G2G

It was nice to be back at Mo's and see everyone.

I had a blast riding the cherohala skyway with everyone. Thanks Mo and Tyler for putting us on that great little road to the falls. The pace was great and we even had time for pictures.

Friday Mike and I went to deals gap and then over to the foothills parkway. I will not call out the HD crowd but you should have to prove you went faster than the posted speed limit before you can purchase a shirt that states you slayed the dragon.

If your at TMAC ask Mike to take you over to the best German style pub around. I had a Spaten on tap and was beaten at fussball by a curvaceous barmaid.

 

How did you guys like the Foothills pkwy? I've ridden it once or twice but I think the Cherhola Skyway was better. What's the name of the pub or a you gonna keep it a secret?

 

The Skyway is MUCH better. I can't remember the name but there are not many German pubs in Franklin. :biggrin:

I made it back to the BAR (Watts Bar) safely. The trip home was a nice ride. It was a lot better avoiding 411 and staying on the back roads. The next thing I know Dustin had lead us back to the road my hotel was on! It was a great day and a half! I will do it again and next time I'll carry a few cigars and a little bourbon. I will post some pictures later today. Thanks!

 

The bar in Franklin is called Rathskeller. Rathskeller Coffee Haus & Pub - A place with character - run by characters. I'll be visiting it again during T-Mac!

 

It was great seeing everyone again and meeing Bob the bartender. It was some damn good weather for some riding. Here's to next time.:cheersaf:

Thanx Mr. T, I'm going to make it a point to check it out. Franklin and Clayton are both cool little towns, perhaps we'll run into you there during Tmac. I may hook up with Rollin that weekend.

 

Good to hear Bob, it was nice meeting you. Too bad we didn't get to do some ridin with you.

what is this tmac yall speak of?

 

TMAC is a ride that the "other" VFR board puts on. Its stands for TexasMAC who was a member of that board and he had an accident and unfortunately was killed. The ride is to commemorate his passing and get fellow members of the board together. This year its from 3/18 to 3/22. I am planning on trailering down with two friends of mine. I see you are from Knoxville, do you Switchblade from this board? He's also from Knoxville and will be attending TMAC. All are welcome to attend esp. if you own a VFR! I hope I was of some help.

They usually rent out the entire Franklin Motel for the event but I'm not sure if there are any rooms available at this point. I'd like to meet a few of the members since I am on both boards but I'm not so sure I want to hang out all night drinking beer around a swimming pool at a motel with them. I'd rather be nodding off in front of a campfire at Kickstand if you know what I mean. I'll make the day trip to visit them but will do my own thing.

When I went last year I just crashed on the floor in someones room, everyones cool I am sure something can be found or arranged. Hope to see you there! Two more weeks to go....

i just spent 30 mins looking at all the pics
from those fuc#ers on the west coast at their RRR,

and decided that

we need to make EVERY effort to put together a kick-ass fall SE-G2G

no maybes, no "but, i might get wet", no excuses, and no NANCYs allowed
no d@mn reason to not come out to drink and ride with our VFR buddies!
so... get your big girl panties all washed up and ready to roll for this fall :vtr2:

those westy guys should be regulated with a special tax for all their fun!
