While cleaning my 91 I noticed I have a 15T front and 45T rear sprocket. Stock is 16/43 if I am not mistaken. So my question is, I have 43,043 miles on her now. So if I have the sprockets I have now would my actual miles me lower or higher depending on how long the PO has had these sprockets on? Also I will be getting a new chain kit soon, is the 16/45 530 chain the best for power/mpg/more accurate odometer/spedo reading?

I've looked for a spedo healer but can't find one for the 3rd gen. Mabey I'm just blind, it's happened before. I'm afraid if I go back to stock gearing that I won't get the "oomph" I have now. But I'm sort of new to bikes ( only been riding 2 1/2 years) and very new to the Vfr (only had one for 400 miles).

you will lose the low end oomf you are getting you are basically taking from top end and adding it down low. Most people would rather have it in the low to mid-range. Lots of people like the gearing you have. I thin kteh best adjustment is to leave front stock and go +2 on the rear. while it borrows from top end it isnt enough to notice but you get low and mid range punch.

Issue is that you will probably not like dropping back since you are used to the big pull you experience now. I think if you get up in the 80+ MPH cruising speed on HWY you will notice less buzzing if you go back to stock on the front.

Yeah on a 91 I am not sure what the deal is. The earliest I can find is 94 Im not well versed on the older bikes.

Thanks for the help bitterpil. Mabey one of the experts will chime in here. Will a 94-97 speedo healer work with a 91? I think everything is basically the same but I'm very new to vfr's.
