I hope you guys can help me see what I'm missing. I have an '08 and tonight, before a ride, I put a new insurance card in with my owner's booklet. As you know, that requires pulling on that damn little plastic pocket it comes in to get it out, then shoving it back in there. (Side note: could they have made that space any effn' smaller?) Anyway, out for a ride when I notice I have no turn signals. Headlamps, taillamps, brake all seem to be fine. Just no indicators. I came home, checked under the seat for jostled wires and couldn't find a thing. Ideas? I could take this to the dealer, but it seems like such a simple thing...
Quick update: I tried everything I could think of (not much beyond the fuses and checking wires/plugs) to find...nothing. Gave up, threw in the towel and took to dealer. They found that the turn signal switch itself was bad. They took it apart, filed some of the contact points and re-installed it and it now works again - sorta. It's gone out a couple of times since, but is easily corrected by slightly pulling out on the switch (exactly the opposite motion of pushing the switch in to cancel the signal). I had them order a new switch, since I'm guessing it's only a matter of time before the switch goes out permanently.
