    Anyone ever done that?
Is it a bolt in deal or not even close.
Just curious.. thinking about my next project.

Do you already have all the parts, material, time, and skill necessary to perform such a conversion? If not, probably cheaper to buy a 3rd gen, trick it out, and you'd have a superior machine over anything you could achieve with the 2nd gen. There would be very little (if any) practical advantage to installing another generation engine into a generation 2 chassis. If you want to do it for bragging rights or just because you think you can, then I understand... I once spent more time and money than I care to admit putting a 90 HP Corvair engine in a VW Bug.

Yes I have Solidworks 3D modeling and a full machine shop at my disposal. This project would be done for fun and certainly not because it makes practical sense.
Now that we have that out of the way :) I was just curious if anyone had tried it.

No I don't have any of the parts at this time, but I do think an EFI 800 Gen 2 would be cool.

Oh and part of this project would be a USD fork, good shock, and 17" wheel transplant. I just did a USD conversion on my Blackbird and love the end result. Even that "small" project was time consuming, so I realize what I be biting off on a project like this. I look at it as 2 or 3 winters worth of entertainment!

What is a USD fork? Is this some type of a cartridge emulator?

Cool. Yes, forget the 3rd gen engine; figure a way to get a 5th or 6th gen EFI 800 engine in there that way you could supercharge it with Toro's kit. A 10 second Generation 2 would be BADD ASSS:cool:

USD forks are too short unless you have longer tubes made.

Might need to find a set of USD forks of a KTM950 or similar and shorten / limit the travel? Would have to be easier than lengthening I'd think?

I suppose mounting a 17" could get to be a pain then too. Sounds like a challenge ;)

950 super moto? Dual discs, 17" wheel, and the forks have to be fairly long?

I'm excited to follow this build. Obviously, you're going to do the single sided swing arm conversion as well?
