Well I am an old MOOT member and actually still am. I have a 85 V65 Magna and a 84 VF700C now a 83 VF750F. I am building a V4 stable that encompasses all the thrills and excitement that the V4 has to offer. I really am surprised that I have decided to expand in this direction but I am very happy that I have. I am really looking forward to making new friends and share our mechanical skills. I have been a mechanical designer for the past 15 years and a machinist for 18 years prior to this. I have only been back into riding for 3 years now but am loving it. I had a 1967 360CL Honda Scrambler I bought brand new when I was 17 years old and rode with 8 or 10 friends for about three years. We were all riding 80cc Yamaha's and 90 Hodaka Ace scooters than so a 360 was all that. Well I guess you guessed by now, yep I am 60 years old but i good shape and like living on the edge.

Hi Crusty, Thanks for the welcome. You have one of those gear driven cam machines that would be nice. Did Honda start line boring and heat treating their cams by 86? I am 6' 3" and 225 lbs so I like the 31 1/2" seat height. The newer they get the lower they go. The other reason is once you study and read and wrench on one of these V4 and purchase all the carb tools for a bank of 4 carbs and collect many spare parts it is just easier and cheaper to get stuck in the one generation. Thanks for the reply and you have a great weekend.

Man, my memory isn't nearly that good!

PA huh? I'm originally from Aliquippa but haven't lived in PA since I was really young. I still have family in the Beaver Valley that I see on occasion. The riding is much better there than Indiana, I can tell you that much!

Thats what I teel them mootsters out their in Texas. I met a guy in Morgantown WVA well I was going their see a Magna and he was a New Orleans transplant from the Katrina storm. He said wow man I never in my life had so much fun going for ride until I moved here. We have mountians, hills, s turns and windy country roads. The only problem is we only really have 6 months of riding time and 2 of them are either wet or cold. I use the winter months to catch up on carb study or reading about oil mods. I have the AN fittings and enough hose to do 2 bikes. 83 Interceptor 002.jpg V65 RS outside.jpg

It is really nice to have all the welcomes. It appears that all are in good spirits and happy. I am a mechanica designer for a Medical Device company called MEDRAD INc in Pittsburgh PA. I am not a mechanical engineer but I do all my own designs at work. I have a machine shop at work and can sneak a few jobs in once in awhile. I am taking my gas tank in on Monday and sand blasting it. I have been using Pro Engineer now for 4 years, before that I used SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

I am learning how to use mechanism design so I can actually make animations of my assemblies. I am designing a lift insert that will make contact on the frame and oil pan and miss the pipes on my 1st gen Magnas. I would like to share few things with you guys.

    1. I bought a MOSFET R/R with a 30 Amp Maxi Fuse from a test helicopter pilot out in California. No more electrical problems in the charging area anyway.
