How long would it take you to tear down the bike, blow out the jets and get it back together?

I am looking for inspiration (done it several times on this barn project) and have to do it one more time.

Been a while but to pull the carbs, fully disassemble them, clean them, put the works back together with care and precision, I would say three to four hours. That includes balancing and I wouldn't just blow them out because there could still be varnish in the jets, they need to be chemically / ultrasonically cleaned, IMHO. If you don't it could be a waste of time. Ask me how I know this and I'll tell ya a tale of Valkarie fun I had a few years back.

I am a bad example, when motivated aboot 45 minutes. I do it alot and never want to but if I must I make quick work of it. Very rare to have a bad one, most are just a quick cleaning and all is good.

I actually enjoy cleaning carbs, pay close attention to small details, test various pieces before re-assembly, test again after assembly and never rush.

Most basic cleaning (jets only) takes me about 1 1/2 hour, but thorough inspection and thorough cleaning runs al least 4 hours.

Crap, I voted before I read the whole post. I spend an hour with them on the bench, cleaning, repairing, replacing, de-burring, chamfering, polishing. Taking 'em off and putting 'em back on, add another 1 hour per 6 pack consumed.
