I think I have seen this mod before on customfighters.com a guy had a 900rr front end on his vf500. Seems like it wouldnt be a harmful conversion, possibly an upgrade? Plus it would look a hell of alot better. I think the bearing sizes on the triple clamps are the same as the vf500 for the 93-99 900rr. got a link here on neck bearings, fork tubes and axle compatability, let me know what you guys think!

I'd try it! I have done fork and tree swaps all the time. Went as far as cutting out the stem a of one bike and welding it to the lower tree of another to fix other forks. Gold Wing forks on a CB750, CB forks on a Magna, TL1000R forks on the wife's gen 3 VFR and most recently KZ305 stem and kneck on FT500 forks and trees on the chopper.

ya i think it would work but id like to have everything planned out too, as faras wheel, rotor, and caliper fitment go. ill be using the f2 wheels when i start to reassemble my bike, i guess the cbr rotor and vf caliper would work.

The gen 3 swap to a CBR900 wheel on a VFR fork set was right on, all I had to do wass cut new spacers for the axel.

you did this on a vf500? I just want some triples that dont look so ugly so I can wire tuck the bike and move fuse box to back, and some forks that dont stick up 4 feet above the f'in triples.

It was on a 92VFR750F I did the CBR900 wheel & rotors on the stock gen3 tree, forks & calipers a couple years back...

Last year I did the Suzuki TL1000 complete front end on the wife's bike...

Damn dude that looks sick. Thats exactly the look i want. MONSTER rotor awsome, nice work man. Guess ill have to research differences in the vfr vs vf to see if this is possible. I could go the cheap route just doing the f2 front end conversion but thats still pretty lame compared to what you did. Ive seen f2 front ends go for around 200 on ebay ill fall back on the f2 front if i cant figure anything else out thats not ridic expensive. Oh and by the way I found that vf500 i was looking at, the guy tried to do a 900rr front but failed. He ended up with rc51 forks and a f3 wheel, maybe some cbr part in there too I think. This is too much $$ for me but still looks sweet. Link the 85 VF500F - "V2" - Page 4 - Custom Fighters - Custom Streetfighter Motorcycle Forum

OK well Ive done a little research and it seems that the f2 triples would work on the vf500 (with some machining and 1000rr forks will fit the f2 triple. My next question is how will shortening or lengthening the fork length effect my bike and what type of wheel and axle do i use for setups like this...would i use a f2 axle and wheel? I do have access to a mill and lathe so if i need to make spacers or modify this shouldn't be a huge problem unless its something difficult to make/modify.

00-01 RC51 triples will slide right into the 500's tube but you gotta run the 04 RC forks to get enough travel so that under hard braking the tire doesnt hit the head under heavy braking. im right now under taking this swap on mine. good luck reasch alot before you buy.

Is there any triple trees that can be swapped out and still use the vf500 forks, brakes, and wheel. I want to relocate the fuse box to the back off the bike so my mane concern is having a descent looking triple clamp that wont break that bank. rc51 front end is awsome but a bit over kill for this bike id say. early vfr or cbr triples a possibility? Those triple clamp compatability charts are disorginized and hurting my brain trying to find a combinaton to work. Just looking to see if anyone has done a simple triple swap with not alot of modification needed.

OK so I decided im going with f3 forks, tl1000 triples for extra clearance, hopfully can use the f3 wheel if it wont rip my rad off, maybe i can find a way to move it back a little. Also want to use f3 rotors and calipers, Dont care about speedo drive because im going to use aftermarket gages anyway. Let me know what u guys think on this setup.
