Just finished mounting up my forks yesterday and when I mounted up the handle bars that came with the forks, Vortex, they are to low. Both master cylinders hit the gauges. So what is everyone doing for bars when running this conversion? Later VFR bars? Or different master cylinders, i.e. ones with romote reservoirs.

Bump. I can't believe that no one has put later model forks on their bike and can't help a brother out with suggestions on what works!!

if i am not mistakened people are using older VFR(93) handlebars. i personally am using Woodcraft clip ons on mines with F2 conversion. i dont mind the lowness cause i am changing fairings. u can check www.HONDAVFR.ORG. i think there is a write up about it. i wanna say there is no definitive answer..i guess its what best work for you.

Thanks Fatso1277, I don't mind the lownes either but the Vortex's I have let the master cylinders hit the gauges no matter how I try to adjust them. I have the ugly F2 car style gauges which I believe are bigger so the is less room.

I would like to know if anyone has this gauge setup and is running stock CBR F2 bars as they are lower than VFR bars and they clear everthing.

I had to search for bars that would allow clearance. Ended up with some older cbr 1000 bars if I'm not mistaken.

You can use bars from a '90 through '97; raising the fork legs to fit them gives the bike a nice profile as well. You can also use a top steering clamp from a late model Nighthawk 750 and use Superbike handlebars. Let me know if you need parts, I have some '93 bars and a Nighthawk clamp for the conversion.

Waldrm, The Night Hawk upper clamp and Super Bike style bars sounds pretty cool but I think for now I would like to find some stock Honda clip-ons. What are the 93 bars you mentioned? Are they clip-ons?

The '93 bars are 41mm clip-ons designed to go on top the the upper steering clamp like the original 37mm bars on your bike

I have CBR600F2 clipons on a vf1000f with cbr1000rr '07 masters (mirrors now mounted on the fairing). I dropped the forks 15mm mainly for handling but kept the clipons at the top of the forks. Still not enough clearance to place the master where I want (radial master lever touches the clocks). I dropped the fairing bracket (there is some play) but the line from the tank to the fairing is broken. Still not satisfied.
