i have a 86 vfr700 that i bought about 2 months ago. replaced brakes, rode it a few days to work. now there is a rubbing noise. thought it might be the bearings so i bought new ones took it over to my stepdads n started to take it apart. found that the left front brake is rubbing, starting to turn the pad blue. where the bottom bolt goes in the copper ring is oval instead of round, ( have no idea what that would be under parts but need a new one). will replacing the rotor fix this problem and whats a good site to get some that wont break my bank? also worked on the caliper cuz it seemed to stick a lil.

i can take a pic of the wornout part where the bolt goes into. outside of that, its like the break pad on the left side is rubbing n turning the pad itself blue. and ty for the welcome.

I don't know if your machine is the F or the F2 but Bikebandit.com seems to have the parts fische for both. It sounds to me like either your caliper slides are binding (possibly due to the worn out part you are describing) or your caliper pistons are not properly retracting. Did you lubricate the caliper slides when you replaced the brake pads?
