I wasn't a fan of the matching grey wheels. I sanded the face of the rear wheel and polished it. Then the rest was painted black. The front wheel I just painted black.

I like that a lot, brother. It looks great. I've also become less happy with the wheels on my '08 and have been thinking of possible remedies. Could you give me details on the sanding, polishing, and painting?

Great look! I've got designs on painting the bike at some point in the future and was thinking about what I wanted to do with the wheels. Love it

The way you painted the rear tire really draws the eye to it instantly! Great job!

Wheels look really sharp. Losing the huge-ass fender also helps. Nice work!

Very nice... Different, and goes well with the bike.

I like some of the new rims they're calling "black chrome", actually thinking about them for my truck. I had seen on TV (Trucks! I think) that someone (don't recall) is making a "black chrome" spray paint, just bye the bye.

I don't recall, are stock VFR rims aluminum? I don't know the ramifications of striping it down to the metal like that; is rust (obviously not if they're aluminum) or other wear issues something to worry about? Or, does the polishing solve that? Just a question for the gearheads out there.
