Well, folks, I did it. There she sits in my garage next to my '83 Ceptor. Yes, I'm speaking of my new 07 RWB VFR. When I hopped on it at the dealer to ride home, it had zero miles on it. I have never owned something like this before. It was a great ride home to say the least. With all I can compare to is my '83, this is a dream! Smooth, qwick, fast and beautiful. It was amazing! I look forward to the up coming riding season.

I keep going out to the garage to make sure this was all real!

My wife will find out about it when she and my daughter come home from a weekend away together.

Congrats, Alex. Always so nice to get a thing that you've dreamt of, especially when it's new. I want to buy a new bike every 2 years so as to experience that feeling over, and over, and over....again. Enjoy the ride!

Congrats on the new acquisition. And my condolences on the impending divorce. Hope your wife is the understanding type. I know when I bought mine, my wife had no say in this. But I did give her a heads up. Like I said, "I'm going to get a bike." Then about a week later, after the shop pulled it out of the crate and built it, the salesman delivered it to my home. I didn't even have a learners permit yet

Just curious but what did you have to pay for a new 07? Did they offer you the extended warranty/roadside assistance?

Congrats on a bike with 0 miles. Mine came from Japan with 20 on the clock. I could tell the bike had never seen the road or open air but still I was dissapointed.

Don't worry momma won't get mad and if she does ask her if she rather you spent the money on booze and strippers ?

I told my woman it was stolen, not to tell anyone and I'll only ride it in case of emergency. For me, that emergency would be if I ever came to my senses and decided to be single again. I know , I know, I need cycletherapy.

Congratulations. I'm glad to see that all went well. Now that you've this bike, I'm betting that you won't be spending much time on the '83. I've got three '86s and it is very hard switching between them and the '07. The handling on the '07 is so much better that it really is tough to go backwards. You'll see what I mean. Enjoy.

Nice to hear someone agree that the 86-87's handeled better. I remain very dissaponted with how my 08 handles.

From 87 to 2008 I put on alomost 50 pounds. The VFR on the other hand put on 100. We both need to go on a diet I reckon.

I think the lack of quick adjustment on the rear shock prelaod is a mistake. The plan someday for the 08 is another Ohlins unit.

The front while feeling firmly planted doesn't seem to offer the feedback I'm used to either.

OK. Now we believe you. Isn't it great looking at the two bikes together and seeing how far they've come. Now all you need is white rims on that '07 to match the '83.

I did mine in white just to match my '86 750 (I did my '86 500 in white as well). That'll be a good winter project for you. Your New York plate will just fit between the mufflers. I had no problem with mine. There is a thread that I had a few years back that gave some tips on the installation. If you get it, let me know and I'll see if I can find the link for it.

Did you guys paint your wheels or have them anodized. Now that mine will be off the road for another month I am going to have a bit of a play. So much for leaving one bike std.
Well done Alex. Looks just like mine. Got a spare key ??? lol
With your missus. Do what I did and pull out all her crap she uses to put her face on or off and shave and dress and have the calculator out beside the pile ha ha. But darling I love you just the way nature intended. They way you are.
    They shut up real quick.

I had mine powdercoated last winter. I waited to do them until the tires needed replacing. It cost $100 to do both rims.
