6 speed manual and zero miles right out of the crate. Had not had the battery serviced yet, nor had it been fueled when I went to get it.

A couple of observations vs. 6th gen on the 35 mile ride home:

    1. Had to fill it up with gas twice
    2. A little more vibration in the handlebars than the 6th gen.
    3. The transmission shifts like butta! I thought the 800 was pretty smooth...
    4. Even in the easy going break in period the torque difference is very evident.
    5. Wind was gusting to 30 mph, it handles the wind a little better than the 800.
    6. Not as quick to dive in, but that is probably somewhat accentuated due to the Sportmax's vs. the Diablo Stradas on my 800.
    7. Fit and finish is phenomenal and it is so clean looking from the perch...if you stand up to look over the hump

Looking forward to getting to know her better. Pic attached.

Congrats! ...you're going to love it (I am smitten with mine). The vibes are getting annoying to me (small throttlemeister installed makes them worse I think) and the tank really is too small. ...but a small price to pay for such a fantastic machine!!! :)

Congratulations, I'm getting between 140 to 160 miles out of a tank of gas, had 8/10 of a gallon left. The really hard thing about mileage is the more RPMs = less mileage. Coming from a Harley I haven't noticed any vibrations:cool:

My 91 only got 120 per tank so that is better but not as good as my 6th gen that gets a solid 200+.

Beautiful bike! The prices are getting better too, but not here in Canada where they still want 18k+++ for a 2010.

    thanks everyone!

jethro911...wow, that is a high price. From my research dealer cost in the US is $13,900.

maybe I'll rent a harley now and again so I realize the vibration on the V12 is not so bad.

I probably get a 1 gallon JAX Collapsible Utility Bladder that I can carry with me for those longer stretches without gas.

I saw the Vibranator too, but they don't (currently) work with the Throttlemeister, and I really don't want to give up the TM for those long days. ...I've been meaning to call them (they're in Vegas, I think) to see what it takes to get them to work with the TM, but I'm broker than broke at the moment, so it's a moot point! lol

By the way, I've now got a couple hundred miles on the Pilot Powers, and while they may not last long (we'll see) they do stick like glue, and no sign of "greasiness" as someone mentioned. ...but I'm not running on a racetrack either.

I think you're due to update your avatar to the new hotness!!! :)

shhhhh! the 6th gen might hear you...i'm keeping them separated for now.

I'm installing the Pirelli Angel STs on my 6th Gen this weekend and if they are as good or better than the Diablo Stradas I have on there I'm going to try the Angel STs on the 1200 once the rear Dunlop is shot. Thanks for the heads up.

The Vibranator guys are in Vegas. I'm sure I'll get some, but I want to get some good seat time first so I can do a good before and after comparison.
