Got to be sure the right parts go back where they're 'sposta: Vaccum slide springs and main jets and main jet holders MAY be different front/rear on some VF bikes.

Tinki or IC would be your go-to guys for this.

I always chuckle when I hear this. Do your nostrils get sandblasted when you breathe? How much stuff is trapped by your filter when you change it? That's the total accumulation of particles that would have been pumped through your engine during the entire mileage it was in there. I run an air filter, but far be it for me to tell someone they need to.

Ya i was planning on doing one carb at a time so i dont mix things up. I ordered the insulators and a gasket set just to be on the safe side. Didnt order that carb manual cause toe cutters link seems to explain this process pretty well. But if u guys say i really NEED it then i will order it.

I pulled the carbs off the bike already just waiting on parts. Is ok to wash the outside of the carb assembly in solvent just to clean it up, I heard sombody mention somthing about a protective coating on them that u dnt want to ruin. Thats funny you guys mentioned the air box thing cause i really wanted to run individual pod filters on this bike just cause they look cool but more i look at the bike seems like a dumb idea and thats not easily accomplished haha.

Running individual "pod" filters works great. The biggest problem is making a way for them to attach, if you can figure that out there is some performance to gain by doing it.

haha ya thats what i mean, how are you supposed to attach them if you cant take that plate off. I was thinkin about making some mini runners out of aluminum for the pods to mount on but the ports for carbs are pretty close together and the ports arent exactly round either kind of a odd shape that would be hard to match.

Ok I got my insulators and im finally getting around to cleaning these carbs. My manual tells me that removing the pilot screws on the carbs is part of the cleaning process But in that cleaning carbs thread, that step was skipped. Am I ok to skip this step or am I trying to half ass things here again.

If you are going to remove the Pilots screws then carefully screw them in and count the amount of turns before they seat lightly.

    Be very careful

Don't loose count.....and don't tighten them when they seat cause you can damage the screws.
