OK..... so I picked up my 08 today and after I got home and it was on the truck my buddy says "this thing has been laid over." I thought he was joking..... but with it being up on the bed, you could see the very few faint little scratches. Hardly even noticeable, but sure enough, it looks like it fell over. Anyhow, I've ridden it for about 40 min and it feels as good as new. It should with only 1200 mi. I did notice that the left handlebar will just barely touch the tank, the side it fell over on, and the other one stops where it should right before the tank. I haven't even tried to loosen the bars to see if I can move it a little or if it's bent slightly. My question is....... they are all the way down. Is there any wiggle room for adjustment in there with that little nipple coming off the clamp? Is it OK to raise them up that little 1/8th inch or so to the top of that ring? Is it important for that piece on the bottom of the clamp to fit down in that little area, cause I'm not sure yet, but it might clear it completely. Sorry if I'm not explaining myself very well. I spoke to the Honda tech and he said he wouldn't raise them up to that ring because they could move if bumped. Didn't sound like a good response to me. Oh.... and I love the bike..... it's amazing! The Metalic Silver looks stunning in the sun. I made them give me the cowl off a new 08 they had since they said they couldn't find the one belonging to mine. Her she it!!!!

Mine has been laid down both sides even. If the handle bar is bent(sounds like it), while you can leave as is, ou should replace. LH bars are all over ebay cuase it is usually the RH side that gets the drop. It will cost les than $100 to correct.

Congrats. I've seen a few of the 6th Gens with the passenger pegs removed, and I think it really cleans up the profile. Good call.

I don't have any advice on repairing the bike, but it sounds as if you bought if from a dealer. Not that they know the history since it was a "used" bike, but I would definitely go on record with them that the bike appears to have been dropped. If you have any issues down the road (not likely, but ya never know), at least you have something showing you told the dealer about it.

With so few miles on it, I'm guessing the original owner may have dropped it, then sold it because it was too heavy for them.

I agree with Pliskin. I would bring the dealer in the loop on this and see if they decide to do something for you. It seems to me that they would have / should have thoroughly inspected the bike before they took it on trade. I doubt that they didn't know that it had been down and that the bar was bent. Give it a shot. Maybe you'll get it straightened out on their dime as that is the way you should have gotten it to begin with. Congratulations on the bike. I'm sure you'll love it.

Well turns out the left bar wasn't bent. Bike was just set up poorly. The right side bar was not even flush... maybe 1/8" higher than the left. So I loosened both bars and there's a little adjustability there so set the right one flush and set them equal distance from the tank at full rotation. Looks like they're perfect to me. There was also way to much throttle play. Annoyed me the whole ride today. The barrel adj was closed all the way so that was an easy fix.

Just spinning plates here, Gorby - but you may want to have someone else do any future service work. If a basic set-up was too high a mark for successful completion, I can't imagine where other failures might occur. Glad you got it sorted.
