Hello everyone. I'm super excited to be picking up a 2008 VFR 800 tomorrow. Was bought new in June 2010, so just a couple months of warranty left. Only 1200 miles on it and she's a beauty. I am having them do the initial service today if it hasn't been done yet. I have a question.... I will never have a passenger. Does the pillon cover come with the bike or is it an add on. This bike was a tough find.... Not many for sale around here. Anything on this model year I should be aware of? Just for info.... I'm 42.... A stay at home dad and my other bike is a 2009 V Strom. The seat cowl issue has come up before. It is absolutely included with the bike, but other members have reported that some sketchier dealerships don't include, or try to upcharge for it. Since you won't be riding with a passenger, removing the rear footpegs also cleans the look very nicely. As you're getting accustomed to the bike, you may find a few things that you'd like to change in terms of some off-idle surging as there are some easily cured fuel mapping issues inherant to 6 gen VFR's, but I'd give it some mileage before making any decisions. Also, the OEM tires are garbage, but will probably suffice in the short term. Congrats, and enjoy the ride!
congrats and welcome to the madness. I have a spare cowl for sale if yours doesn't come with it.
I've also seen dealerships try to say the grab handles are extra along with the little covers that go over the holes when the grab handles are removed. Check under the seat for the tool kit too. Congrats on the new bike! Post up some pics when you get her home. :thumb:
