I wouldn't be worried about that mileage. That is peanuts. But two grand for a 20 year old bike seems incredibly high to me. Incredibly high. I think other will chip in here and agree. But if that is what you want, go get it and ride the beach like a cheap ho and put her away driven and wet.

Price seems reasonable assuming there is no major body damage. Be forewarned that parts are becoming difficult to find for these older bikes and a single minor drop could easily cause as much damage as the bike is worth. I would highly advise checking the condition of the fairing tabs because they were poorly designed and break quite easily especially with the aged brittle plastics. It doesn't help that plastic for 3rd Gens is very expensive to replace and very difficult to find. Also check to make sure the OEM R/R (regulator/rectifier) has been changed since they are notorious for going bad. The owner shouldn't have a problem removing the fairings for you prior to you coming if there is nothing to hide. Last but not least don't forget to make sure the key works for both the ignition as well as the seat lock.

I am the worst to chime in on this.......I LOVE THE GEN THREE...... If it is a clean bike all other things can be worked oot. It is truely the best of the VFR family. Miles are not an issue, clean body work is everthing. Sounds like a good deal for a clean bike, post a pic if you can.

Thanks for the replies. I will be looking at it in a day or 2 depending on weather, don't wanna buy it without a test ride. I will post pics if all is good and I get it.

So I'm looking at it on thurs when the snow stops and I was wondering what are the specs of the vfr750? Other than the stuff I found online. Is the 100bhp at the crank or rear wheel? Is this a fast bike, (compared to my 91 yamaha fzr 600)? Is it a torque monster? What are the mod's if any that can be done, jet kit, coil upgrade, etc? How will it hold up to 600's of the early 90's or to newer bikes? I know it won't beat newer bikes but will it be left in the dust or put up a fight? Just curious about the bike before I buy it!! :D

    VIN number

    VFR VIN decoder VINs

And according to this person's data, the 1st 403 bikes of the 1991 model year were California model VFR750 (RC36) Model Info Any bike with a VIN ending 404 or higher should be 49 states.

Further verified by looking at carb numbers and engine case numbers and emissions equipment installed. At the end of the day, who knows what engine is installed in a 20 year old bike.

One more question. Does the exhaust come out on the right or left side of the bike stock? And does it really matter?

So looked at that vfr today and is not as good ad I thought. Needs front tire, fork seals, left fairing cracked and fairing behind front tire (v-shaped fairing) isn't bolted up and cracked and front blinkers are loose, and missingsome of the inner gauge fairing covers and the guy wouldn't go below 2000. I told him I woul only give him 1600. Is it worth it at that price ($1600) or not?

I think you can find one in better condtion for the same asking price if you are patient. $1600 would be a good deal assuming nothing mechanically wrong.

Well talked the guy down to $1500. Im goin to get it pending a test ride and that it shifts and rides good. I did notice that it already has the VR upgrade done to it. Anything I should know about how it shifts or rides before I ride it?? Shifts hard in a gear?, pulls to the right,? Any of that stuff?? Thanks in advance.
