As a boy I tried to help my dad by fetching all his tools for him while his legs stuck out from under the car. I don't know how many times he had to describe the channel locks to me. Then again, why didn't he have his tool box in reach in the first place? Serves him right for replacing the catalytic converter on his '76 Trans Am with a straight pipe.

Indoors I was his TV remote control, before TVs had remote controls. I'm glad I just had a kid; I'll make him work the buttons on the remote for me. Oh, and fetch beers from the fridge too.
And now, back to your previously scheduled program...

If you have a Harbor Freight near you, they are always running sales on motorcycle lifts. Check them out. Good luck.

yes, it seems technology has advanced so that we no longer need kids as remote controls. However, they are still needed to fetch the tools, hold the light, hand them the shop towel that isn't much more than 5 inches from where I am standing. Eventually you can train your kids to become your mechanics, so you no longer need to change oil, brakes, rotate the tires, because that is what you parents had you for, and that is what you can do.

    hijack, part 2, completed.

and there is no backtalk included with the lift. You can sell your lift without the police being called, or you can throw it away when it becomes useless. more in the lift column, so I would say go for the lift. The kid will take longer to make.
