So after 8234 miles on the Pirelli Angels and a noticeable flat spot on the rear...I went ahead and bit on the new Conti Road Attack II's. I've gone back and forth with staying with the Angels because I liked them so much, but I got such an awesome deal from Competition Accessories (www.compacc.com; called and got them for $104 front tire and $140 rear tire), that I couldn't pass up on trying out the new Conti's (totally intrigued by the "Black Chili" compound and the "Traction Skin" ). And they claim that they are "ready to ride", meaning minimal scrub in due to not having that slick coating on them from the molding process. Just buy them...seriously. 59 miles later after install...scrubbed in (see attached pixx if you dare!!!). Period. And they flik over sooooooooo easily. I loved the Angels' ride and handling...I like the RA2's even better. Everyone raved about the RA's, so I always wanted to try them due to their following here on this forum. Seriously..the new RA2's are awesome. The Angels are awesome too, just not as quick on first lean. I haven't ridden in the rain with the RA2's yet, but I will soon. Both brands warm up fast and are super stable. The Angel's felt like an ST tire that had more "sport" going on...this RA2 feels like a true sport bike tire. And I cannot state how much more safe and secure I feel leaving the dealer's parking lot after they were spooned on....no slip, no slide, and I immediately found myself doing the "weave" on a brand new set of tires!!! Every other tire maker should start manufacturing tires like this...seriously...when it's time to replace your tires...just buy the RA2's!!! The minimal scrubbing is worth the purchase alone!!!

I'd be keen to hear how they are in the wet.

I commute every day and prefer a tire that is great in the wet.

Would that be a reason to go angel as opposed to the conti 2?

I haven't had a chance to ride in the rain with them yet, but I can tell you that the Angels are awesome in the rain. I don't think you would be disappointed with them.

    Angels to Road Attack 2's!!!

Hey guys and girls!!! Check out the pixx for 135 miles! Seriously sticky and seriously compliant!!!! Look how much front tire gets used in very spirited riding...I have never used that much front on any tire I've ridden on. So far, awesome tire!!!

I've got a set of Angels on and have done hours and hours of riding in the rain, including torrential downpours. They stick well and instill confidence. I don't drag a knee in the rain, though, or pretty much any other time either.

For a solid sport Touring tyre you may like to look at the Michelin R2s.

They do Wet and commute exceedingly well. Before my current Sports orientated Q2's the previous sets of R2s lasted approx 17K kms front and 14K kms rear with probably a a K or 2 left but I changed slightly early due to an upcoming 3K Alpine ride.

Changing recently to the Dunlop Q2s does show up the weakness of the R2s and that is they have a safe but slower very linear turn in making them harder work to ride hard flip flopping through tight twisites. The R2s were however excellent in the Wet usually winning any Wet weather Mag test and certainly better than my current Q2s are.
