Possibly Buying a 04. Need Advice...

Hi, I am looking at a 2004 VFR with 16k miles. The bike has brand new tires, scorpion exhaust, and power commander. The bad is it has a Rebuilt title due to the front forks being bent a few years back but everything is good to go now. Only other problems are some scuffs on the right side plastics, engine case, and grab handle. The lowest I can get the guy is $3,500. What do you guys think? Is that a fair price for the bike... Oh and it's also the ABS model. Thanks in advance for any help and advice. I also know for a fact that the 16k service has not been done.

 

Sounds high to me for a salvage bike that still has damage yet to be repaired. See if you can get her for $2500. Aftermarket exhaust and PC3 aren't worth their weight in gold like some people think they are.

 

I just got my mint 02 with 10k miles for 4200 with an extra OEM exhaust I just debaffled. I think it is a bit high I would shop around and see if there are any others around. I know there is still one by me in PA that would go for 3700, but it has some scuffs on the faring and it had three owners with 15k miles

 

I just picked up my '04 that is in mint condition with only 12k miles on her for $3800...if he wont budge, tell him to take a hike.

 

I did find another 04 here. It's red with red powder coated wheels, exhaust, programmer, and rear tire hugger. The guy wants $4,500 OBO and it only has 8k miles. I am going to try to take a look at it this weekend.

 

this is the better deal by far, especially if you can get him closer to $4000, forget about the other bike...

 

Thanks for the advice. Hopefully the guy will be around this weekend so I can take a look at the bike. From the pictures it seems really well taken care of but won't really know until I get a chance to ride and hear it. Is there anything I should be on the lookout for on a 04 model? I had a pearl white 06 back in 2007 and loved that thing so i've been wanting another one ever since.
