Access your search function, a very common topic, but few can claim to have seen actual flames !!

Mine was really hot due to a weak connection between cable and connectors; I replaced 5-ways connector by direct soldering the cables and, it wasn't hot any more. And battery charging issues ended!!

3+2 or 5 it does not really matter; if connector is hot, the connection is weak (high electrical resistence) and the assembly warms up (either due to a poor electrical contact cable-to-connector or connector-to-connector). That was my case...

My connection is good I checked electrical resistence with multimeter (there is no electrical resistence).

    Hi Dainius
You might find that there is little or no resistance across the connectors when using a multimeter as the meter uses very little current . If the plug and socket get hot there is a bad connection ,and the hotter it gets the worse the resistance and so on... It is best to remove the plug and socket and solder the cables together. A bit of a pain if you have to remove the connection on a strip down. Better that then braking down though as I once did on a German autobarn when my main fuse holder melted.Got home to England by using a paper clip wedged in the blackend slot.
