I have a set of Honda Line bags that I bought with my bike with the honda mounting hardware. I had the bags on the bike for about a month and then took them off because I never used them.

I am thinking of selling them but I am wondering what kind of price I should ask for them? I had them painted black to match my 2009 VFR with Honda paint. They are in perfect condition.

    Help?

With ALL the hardware included, I would say under $800. New ones are between $900 and $1k. If any hardware is missing or there are any other issues, I would say under $700. You have to give someone a good enough reason not to buy new.

I have regularly seen full kit's going for around $350. Some perfect, some slightly scratched, some custom painted and shaved. I wouldn't shoot above $500 if you really wanna sell them.

Bought a complete set from one of the members for $500 shipped, this seems to be the going price if the bags are original color and in great shape,if they have been painted, scratched or mounting parts are missing then expect to get a lower price.Be upfront with potential buyers,if parts are missing (they are a PIA to replace) let them know and show lots of pictures.

Thanks for the info. I would never sell them for $500. They are mint with all hardware. Looks like I'll be keeping them for now.

Just curious but why did you buy them? Did they give you a great deal or were you planning on some long distance riding and it never happened?

Figure out how much you want for them, then list them on CL or ebay and see what happens. Your limited because there are VFR specific so you have a smaller market than if they were a set of givi's that with a change of hardware would mount on any bike.

Personally I regret not finding a viffer with the bags, I have soft bags that work great BUT after spending 2 days riding with a friend on a connie with hard bags I can see the benefits.

And you could always wrap them up and put them on the shelf so down the road when you do go on a trip you already have them.

Woobie - I purchased a 2009 VFR from the dealer late last year. It was his last of the 6th Gen VFR's and he had outfitted it with the Honda Line bags (and had them custom painted to match the black bike). I'll most likely do what you suggest and keep them wrapped up in the top of the garage until I someday need them or sell the bike.
