It's mounted just below and to the left of the rear tank bolts. It's got a rubber cap on it and I thought it was an air valve, but upon taking off the cap I think it's a grease zerk. Oh, it's an '03. I don't see anything in the owner's manual, and my shop manual has yet to arrive from Amazon.
As always, thanks for any help!

Um.....maybe got a pic of said "thingee" Rich? Might be helpful.

You sure it's not one of the proportional valves for the LBS system?

Crusty called it. Proportioning valve for the linked brake system. The thing under the rubber cap is a bleeder fitting.

That would be a resounding "NOPE" Rich!!!!! You don't wanna mess with that.

BTW-Rich make sure to have your bike's VIN number checked at your local Honda dealer for any warranty recalls. I've got an '03 myself and I got two recall notices, one for the dash wire harness and one for leaking proportional control valves in the LBS system.

Not all '03's were affected by the leaking proportional control valves, but you might wanna check anyway because if left unchecked those leaking valves will lead to complete rear brake failure.
