WSS: Davies blasts 'imponderable' tyre problem | WSBK News | Mar 2011 | Crash.Net

Per Motomatters, com: "What was less impressive was the performance of the spec Pirelli tires. At least three riders suffered fast-deflating rear tires, with Foret, Davies and Roccoli forced into the pits with flat tires. Davies went back out with a fresh rear, but was too far behind to get back into the points. Pirelli is yet to come forward with an explanation, but three bikes with identical problems clearly point to some kind of production or QA problem. The point of a spec tire is to level the playing field for the riders; the spate of flats turned into a crapshoot."

Per Chaz's Facebook page: "Chaz Davies Pretty pissed w/the outcome of today's race. Things weren't perfect setup wise but luckily we have a fast bike which kept us in the hunt for the big trophy. Party ended early with a defected tyre. Think I used up all my luck in Daytona 2008 and it seems there is no more for me!!!

The back and forth between BB and V4 Bear is more exciting then the race talk.

I'm glad you think so. I was satisfied to find the IGNORE feature just now, so I don't have to think about skipping that nonsense in every thread.

Thanks for link, Echo. It should be interesting to learn more should Pirelli step-up and describe what went wrong. Ironical, if not shamefull, that the tires did exactly the opposite of their intended purpose. Not that one has anything to do with the other, but I've had flats on every set (3) of Pirelli performance tires that I've attached to my cars; one, in conjunction with some operator error, lead to a rollover. That being the only reason I've been reluctant to even try their highly regarded sportbike tires.

No worries Heat I'm all done now. BB is never going to tell us which racers he likes no matter how much you waterboard him.

    ^^^^LOL!

    Case in point!

What can I say. I enjoy both their minds how BB and V4 think ideas out. In addition, I agree with both too. Bear makes a true statement regarding all things 'man-law' and discussion of racing clearly is defined within that law book. However, BB also a valid points with racer X and his team will not make it to whatever postition you want know matter how much discussion takes place.

Their jabs are fun and watching the rest of you guys try and predict the 'unknowable' is "striving after wind". But I still enjoy the banter as I watch WSBK and MotoGP.

That may be, but it remains entertaining in the sense that it's similar to gambling, without the monetary exchange. Besides, short of having a circle jerk, how else are we supposed to determine penis size?

Only if me and El Oso don't start posting lists of tire fan clubs and who was wearing what or the dreaded NASCAR shit. ;)

    How goes the real racing?

^ Loving not seeing whatever that post is! I'm sure it has nothing to do with motorcycles.

Actually I like your posts when they are not directed at you know who. You aren't the one I blocked!

Now, about that WSBK race the other day..!
WHO expected Melandri to be dicing up there with Max?? wow! He has always needed a perfect bike to do the business - has he found it?
Kawi's new machine is going to take some time to dial in... no surprise there.
Poor Corser couldn't hold it together for his home race... shame. I do like rooting for the Beemer. Haslam OTOH - look out!
So Aprilia and BMW have taken a large chunk out of the Jap manu's success the last year or so. All those Suzook and Kawi's have been pushed down the results.

Since Cundalini outed himself and the constant reminder by Crusty, are you really interested?

The harleydoods have been making lists like that for decades.

For our compadres in the Great Frozen North and across the ponds we be talking inches not centimeters. Be advised! We know the difference but just don't like to admit it.

Marco is looking good, it would seem that the Ex-Moto GP guys do very well in WSBK, I think it will be a interesting season seeing how Marco is already up to speed.
I figured it would take 2 or 3 races for Marco to work it all out, guess not.
Haslam seems to have a much better setup the Troy, I just wonder if they share info.

Hopefully Honda will take note this season and come out w/ the V-4 CBR next season.
