Hey all. It's time to replace the rear wheel bearing and I feel like the prices at the dealership are unreasonable. I'm not trying to get cheap here, just don't want to be taken advantage of. I trust All Balls bearings and have used them on other bikes. Anyone who makes bearings for motorcycles has bearings for the front end of my 4th gen, but I need rears. So where do I go?

I searched already with no luck. Also the prices listed on the Al lambs Dallas Honda website that I'm using are:

COLLAR, RR. AXLE for HONDA VFR0F 42623-MT4-000 $3.89

    CIRCLIP (2MM) for HONDA VFR0F 90651-ML0-731 $4.42 x 2

    BEARING (08LU) for HONDA VFR0F 91061-ML0-731 $37.36

    BEARING, RR. for HONDA VFR0F 91062-MR7-003 $33.35

    DUST SEAL (0X2X) for HONDA VFR0F 91284-MR7-003 $10.04

An All Balls kit would include the bearings and dust seals and run under $20 (that's for the front though so with the bigger rear bearings it would be more, but I doubt it would get close to $100)

<--- love McMaster. But again, not local and pay for shipping.

Certainly understand the lure of the local but I am a bit spoiled with McMaster Carr.

If I place an order before 4pm the parts/tools arrive the following day before 3pm, via UPS Ground.

They have the most comprehensive and easy to use catalog I have found. Really a class outfit.

You guys are golden! I've always wondered about that, I know that bearings are one of the few things in the world that are almost entirely size universal, but was hesitant to pick them up at Grainger or McMaster because I wasn't sure about speed ratings, grade or whatever else might be involved.

But I'll go ahead and hit up B&A Industrial Supply locally, which is where I get all my stainless hardware and other oddities (like a 46mm impact socket yesterday).

    Hey, thanks for the thanks!

I used McMaster Carr sealed wheel bearings for my VF500F/CBR600F 17" wheel conversion. These worked like a charm. I did go with OEM parts for the dust/oil seals.

Good luck with your project! Let us know how you make out.

Quality bearings cost money, and are made in USA, Japan, or Germany ONLY.

If you want to go cheap and use low quality (just like all their products) Chinese garbage like allballs, you'll be replacing them twice as often.

Reports of failed allballs wheel bearings are starting to appear.

Industrial bearing places can supply the good stuff at lower prices than your Honda dealer, but even there you now must specify "nothing Chinese, please."

Does anyone know the correct dimensions for the front wheel bearings for a 5th/6th GEN?
