I got an extra OEM exhaust with it and now I am in the process of taking out the baffles.

Same thing happened when I got my '03,I got to ride it home from the dealer then I had to put it away for the winter.
Springtime was such a loooooong time away. Talk about agony.

I was able to take it out the day after I got it, but there was a ton of gravel on the road so I didn't go far. I was just glad to ease the pain of waiting for a day lol, plus there was a ton of police on the roads cause it was unseasonable warm out.

I like how smooth it is, and the overall feel and quality. It isnt going to be a touring bike for me cause im 6" 4', but it is more comfortable than my brothers sv1000. However I knew that when I bought it, the only thing that bummed me slightly is the Vtec. It wasnt that i didn't like it, it was that I heard a lot of people writing that it was to abrupt. So when I finally got to experience it I was hoping for this massive force throwing me off the bike, but it wasn't as forceful as I was hoping. I think in the long run that will be better though, cause if that was the cause you wouldn't be able to keep me from 7k lol. Overall though, I love the bike and especially the look and the fact that there isn't another one in my area.

Velvety smoothness and torquey power delivery are both hallmarks of the VFR. I'm with you on the whole VTEC engagement abruptness thing Funnybusiness. I never understood what people were complaining about. My '03 has the same 6800rpm engagement point as your '02 does and I never felt that it was all that abrupt either. I guess I'm a goob but I actually like the way the thing goes "Whack" and the whole bike shudders when you're in 3rd,4th,and 5th gears. Never fails to bring a $hit eatin' grin to my face.

I'm with Stosh -- I love when the VTEC kick, though my 07 comes in a bit sooner. If you search the site, I think there's some info on lower footpegs that will fit the VFR, which might help with comfort some. Welcome to the madness...

    Woo Hoo

3 of us now purchased VFR's within a week. Mine to is an 02 and Red. Thanks for the pics of your Bike, because of your pics I am able to see that i need to replace my Chain and im still pritty sure i have after market Exhaust. ( StainTune ) .. Looks good with out passenger pegs, but I have the option to ride 2up so they will stay on.
As far as the vtec kicking in i think mine is abrupt ? still not sure about it? She has 28k on her and needs a little TLC so im VERY tuned in to every little noise and feel Hoping she will be a very dependable ride and not cost alot of $$$ ..

    Congrats and Take Care.

I do like the look of it without the rear passenger pegs, but I am most likely going to put them back on with the cowl horns. I will also look into getting the lowered foot pegs, other than the zero gravity windsheild, ebc brakes, and K&N the bike is all stock with 10,225 miles.
