I know this sounds really cheapskate, but here in SA they are hard to find and hellishly expensive when you do. When I checked out the filter part of the air filter on my VFR it looked very similar to a car filter. has anybody ever done one and how doable is it? Thanks.

Not too sure about Amazon, a lot of guys don't ship here because so much stuff goes missing. You are probably right though, just burns to pay 3 times as much just because its for a bike. Thanks for the input.

I have seen it done before.
you take the stock filter off, go to auto parts store and start opening the air cleaners untill you find one that will work w/ slight mods.
