Then there are those that dare us. example brave J-walkers thinking I'm a pedestrian and I can walk in front of you, or like the ones that walk in front of you (on purpose) through an intersection taking their sweat a$$ time of it knowing all to well they are screwing with ya. unfortunately if you touch one of them with a piece the local law will hang ya. common sense doesn't apply anymore, sadly it's a lost trait. and we wonder why this country is going in the crapper.

Speaking of, anyone hear about the kid that got a one year suspension from school for blowing a spit wad? Criminal charges have been drawn up and it looks like it may screw him for getting into Annapolis. Go figure what this world is coming to, ran by a bunch of whiners and pansies that got beat up in school or something , Grr..

Hey Duccmann... actually, even though I said I'm from NJ I don't live there anymore. I'm close to you... Vegas. Stop in next time you're in town. As for local 151, you'll see that in the signature of many of us who have been here for a few years.... it has its own significance and meaning. Without looking at signatures you might see it in the signature of Drewl, Scubalong, Y2KViffer, VFourbear, Marrib....

Well, 13 years driving a tractor trailer nationwide has shown me some very interesting driving habits that people have... it's not just in your locale, it's EVERYWHERE!

I'm orginally from the Maryland/Delaware area, and moved here to AZ in '99. Trust me, they drive just as bad here on the West Coast as they do on the East Coast.

Best one I can think of... driving a manual in heavy traffic, talking on cell phone (using speaker) while reviewing and commenting on folder of documents in one hand and putting on lipstick, mascara, and blush with the other... while doing 45-55 mph on the freeway in downtown Chicago!

Ducc, don't get me started on the naughty stories... you ain't seen nothing yet, brother! LOL

VFRChick... I probably saw you, more than once. It's a common thing to see women changing in traffic out of their work clothes and into their gym outfits or vice versa. Also, the whole mini skirt thing with the left leg up on the seat... truckers dream, dear! Especially when it's open air season

But the dumbest move I ever saw was a guy on cell phone driving a Rolls in the left lane at an intersection, realizing that he was in the wrong lane and supposed to make a right - not a left, so he darts out into the intersection to turn right at the same time that the opposing traffic is turning left on a green arrow. His car hit an old F100 pickup that pushed his grill into the front of my rig. The jackass got out of his car - cell phone still to his hear - and bitched out the guy that hit him because he spilled his coffee all over his silk suit! The officer that did the scene got fed up with his stupidity and arrested him for something like aggravated reckless endangerment with a motor vehicle or something like that. Me, I spent the better part of the afternoon getting my hood tweaked at the Freightliner dealership in Indy so that I could at least be able to check my oil.

All the above and my neighbour applying lipstick and taking curlers out of her hair while she was driving down the road. Where are those potholes at these appropriate times. Assholes with their bright lights on at night time piss me off. Like..."What the fuck is this big bright blue light for on my instument panel?"

Oh man, I'll never forget this one. I was in my s2000 behind some gigantic suv at a stoplight. The lights red so the girl driving decides its a fantastic time for make-up. She gets so into this make-up application that the light turns green and stays that way for a solid 10 seconds without her noticing. So I give her a small friendly toot-toot of the horn, and what does she do? She turns around, flips me off screams something about my mother out the window AND STAYS STOPPED. I kid you not, she sat there at the green light all the way til it turned red again. Like really? punishing me because you're being a bad driver? GOD

On a side note, I see that happen all the time; When someone else is in the wrong and they know it but they turn around and yell/gesture at the person they're endangering.

I came up on a southbound SUV headed down the freeway one day. As I'm overtaking the vehicle, I see a bumper sticker, "Save a life, Hang up the phone, in memory of (some girls name)."

As I continue to pass the vehicle, this woman is yapping away on her cell phone.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Best one I remember: I was coming up to an inclined RR crossing and had to slow. The car behind me looked like it wasn't going to slow down. I notice as I was looking in the rear view mirror that this woman was kissing the driver. She was all over the front of the driver. After I came over the tracks they separated and slowed fast. I then saw the driver was another woman! I about went in to the ditch!

This made me LOL. I've spent my entire 42 years in Jersey, worked in Manhattan for 14 (i.e. drove in from NJ), and spent plenty of time traveling to the other boroughs.

You're spot on with this one Chick. There is no doubt that a blinker is definitely considered a challenge. Having a "junker" makes it the best, because you're not worried about the consequences. I will GUARANTEE that if I am in my 2003 Civic - worth about $4000 - there is no way, I repeat: NO WAY - that someone in a more expensive car is going to pass by the traffic line and cut in front of me. I have literally been so close to other cars that I've tapped on the window, they put it down some, and I simply tell them that "Beige (my car color) is going to look really nice mixed with that BMW blue you got".

Jersey also has an unofficial move, aka the Jersey Slash. For those that haven't been here, we have what are called jughandles. Basically, in order to make a left turn at a light, you need to exit right, loop around so that you now cross the highway you were just driving on. So its inevitable that you're cruising down the road at 75-80 (regardless that the speed limit is 55), and all of a sudden your exit comes up on the right. No blinkers, no warning - you just immediately go right, thereby slashing in front of all the oncoming traffic.

Kinda keeps you on your toes.

Far out, always loved AZ and never wanted to end up in south FL. After living here for 11 years, I have to say I love it. Spent the holidays in Dusseldorf and rented cars and did alot of driving. People there dont clog up the left lanes like here in the states and rarely pass on the right. I had people over from Germany recently and they were commenting on how I was passing on the right, I replied, "here in America if you dont pass on the right your never gona get to where your going". lucky they werent riding on the back of my bike, then they would have really wittnessed some calluse behaviour. I think of #1 when I am on my bikies and stuff them slack jawed mouth breathing cage operating bastards when I need to. Its still a fine line, gota be aggressive but still have some reserve. FL drivers basically suck arse/NJ sucked too but dont get me started. Good thing about FL drivers is they are at least used to seeing motorcycles on the road. In NJ where I grew up and rode alot, people looked at me like I was from Mars sometimes. Peace Outtie...Mars is calling.

Three times now over the past few years I've passed a cage on the interstate, glanced over, and witnessed the driver being treated to a BJ, and once the girl was topless. Talk about distracting - for both him and me. Oh, well. Nobody's perfect.

Someone mentioned New Jersey. One of the things I like about the NJ Turnpike is that no one drives under 80 mph, unless their vehicle just ran out of gas.
