Thanks for your reply!! And thanks for the heads up on the wireing harness.. I just went out to check and I do not see any stamps or anything on the VIN tag.. so i called my local dealership and their service dept was closed, so it will be next tuesday before I can have them run the VIN to check for me. It would be nice if it is done already.. but if not.. I will get it in the shop right away to be done. They should do that free of charge since its a recall right?

I believe you are correct. The recall should follow the bike regardless of how many times it may have changed hands. It should have been done long ago. I would deal with this the first opportunity you can. Be a shame if your "new to you" rife was to burn up on you. I wished I could load mine so easily into the back of my truck, but my truck is a 3/4 ton and is fairly high off the ground. Driving the bike up a ramp onto the bed of the truck scares me so much I piddle just thinking about it. And the farings would bottom out at the top as well. That being the case, I am forced to ride the bike more often and that really sucks don't you think?

Riding the bike more.. to me would not be a bad thing.. lol. But having a small truck to load it on is convenient I must say.. I have a spot at my house that I can back up to and pretty much just roll the bike in the bed. But I hear you on riding a bike up ramps.. that is a little scary. I have done it once (not on my VFR) and decided it is better to just get some buddies together to push her up there.

I know one thing.. sitting here at work looking out the window seeing my new baby in the bed of my truck is driving me nuts!! I am glad I have tomorrow off.. I do not know how much riding I will get in because its only gonna be in the mid 40's and I do not have the proper winter gear anymore.. but I am going to at least get out and tough it out for as long as I can! Can't wait

I realize that everyone has their spending limits and this just might be where you are at presently. None of my business. But if you are wanting to ride in cooler weather, the gear is not really that expensive. Of course, you are the only one who can decide if you are buying heated gear to ride, or paying for a hooker or whatever to stay warm. Well....You know what I mean.

Gerbings makes a great set of heated gear. I have the Jacket liner, the pant liner and insoles for the boots. I am not really that impressed with the insoles, but the Jacket liner is nothing short of great. And the pant liner is quite good for the times that I do use them. They all plug into each other. The only thing I can say though is if you are going to buy these items, go for the full jacket liner rather than just the vest.

And a rain suit for about $100.00 or less is phenomenal for capturing the heat and keeping it inside, and stopping the wind from whistling through the seams and robbing you of the heat.
