I just figured I would join up here to get me more along my way of picking up a 6th gen. I've had all different types of bikes in the past, and now I realize that a reliable sport touring bike such as this would suit my needs better than anything else. I need something I can ride all day and not have a broken back or be vibrated to death, yet still be able to toss it around in the twisties.

I wish I could find it haha. Any bike is going to be a compromise. If I were doing cross country trips every month I would probably buy a Goldwing. If I were doing nothing but trackdays and terrorizing the neighborhood I would buy another supermoto. I think one of these will be a nice balance though.

I flew over your place last month and I think I saw you in the back yard. I won't say what you were doing. Welcome to the forum. I have had a few longer rides on mine since I got it in 06 and did fine. Even with all the old fugger issues I have with joints and the back. When I say joints, I don't mean doobies either.

Reggie has in his own way made a request of you to post up photographs of your ride. It is not nice to piss Reggie off. So,....when might we expect pix or your ride?

This is what I'm riding right now. '79 Yamaha XS650 that I built a little over a year ago.

Thanks! I say go for it, it's easier than you think and a lot cheaper too. I've got maybe $1600 wrapped up in it. The donor bike was free for me, although you can pick up a running XS650 like this for 5-600 bucks. Fun bike, but it drags parts when leaned over too much and it's not too comfy for long rides.
