Tried several searches on this topic, could'nt find anything. Does anyone know what is the largest rear tire you can squeeze on a 6th Gen with adequate clearance?

Stick with the 180. There is not one reason to mount anything else.

Hey thanks fellas. I use my scooter primarily as a commuter and rack up a lot of miles every week, about 480 to be exact. I know there's different opinions about tire brand, performance, wear, make Etc...... I'm going through a set of tires a year which is a lot to me (12-15K per year). I just want to experiment with my next set to see if a larger tire (more rubber, more mileage) gets more longevity or if someone else has already experienced it.

    stay w/ the 180.
The 190 will mess with the handling of the bike.

Bigger size does not mean it will last longer..............I commute between 100 to 150 miles a day and I use Pilot road2, this last me between 10k to 12k depend on my riding habit.

If you want more mileage, try a harder compound like the roadsmart or such (sport/tour), still decent grip but harder rubber and flatter profile won't flat spot as soon. I agree on the size issue, 180...

Sure wish I was puttin 12k/yr on my vtec- good job!

You'll go thru 190's every bit as fast as you are 180's, only now you'll be paying higher tire prices while achieving poor handling with slower turn in. As Smooth said, change compounds, not sizes. Besides, 12k-15k on a set of tires is about all you can ever expect, you're already giving up a ton of performance on that type of tire; no need to make it worse.

It sounds like you are getting great mileage out of your tires to me. I do around 10k a year and 2-3 sets of tires per year... I'm working on getting it down to just 2 sets a year by trying the dunlop q2 which supposedly has a harder compound middle.

larger tire does not equal longer mileage, you find far more difference in the same size with different compounds and brand/model and tire pressure.

Even with a larger tire you are still traveling on relatively the same size contact patch. Stay with the 180 and save yourself the money and diminished handling. As others have said, 12k out of a set of tires is great!

I agree with Scubalong. Michellin PR2. Best of both worlds. Hard in the centre for the longevity required of the weekday commute, and softer on the off centre for weekend fun twisties.
