I'm wanting to put a trailer hitch on my 96 VFR. Found a few online including Hitchusa.com but they only show it fitting a 1995 not the 96. Can anyone tell me why it wouldn't work on the 96.
    Thanks
    H

I've done a search of the site and couldn't find Where you have already discussed this. Found a post on a hitch for a different bike and one for a homemade hitch, but nothing discussing any factory made.
I don't really understand the other reponses to my post. Turtles???? WTF
Just thought this forum might have some helpfull people willing to share their knowledge.

Please don't miss understand us we were talking between our self about a pervious user. But no I don't think we have discussed a factory hitch on a vfr. We are here to help but I don't think most of us have much experience with a hitch for a bike at least not me anyway.

Post a picture of you and your bike and it may help the responses.

    OK try this again

I'm not computer savy and can't seem to load a pic for some reason. It shows up on my profile in settings but says the pic failed to load. I thought this would be an easy question for people who are die-hard VFR riders. This is my first VFR and I don't know anyone with a 1995 model that I can look at to compare. Just would be nice to know before I drop $300 on a hitch. I'm not interested in building one myself. I tour alot and if my hitch fails and causes serious injury to myself or death, its nice to know my daughter has a hitch manufaturer to sue. And sorry to sound like a smartass but it seems kind of funny that some members of this site don't take you serious if you don't post a pic of yourself and bike. We're discussing bikes here, not applying for Match.com.

the homemade hitch guy was the biggest troll VFRW ever saw. He showed back up under many names.

He'd never spring the money for a premanufactured quality product. I can't think of any reason a product made for a '95 wouldn't work on a '96. Do you have a link to the product and does it mount to the tail or the swingarm?

Hitchusa.com H But they don't show it. I know a guy who bought one for a 1980 gs850 even though they showed it only fitting up to a 79. Same frame and worked great. I've thought about contacting them directly and asking them but didn't know if they would respond plus I don't know if they offer it in black. Chrome just wouldn't look very good

spelling too good to be go4ride.

But dude really, takes two minutes to pick up the phone and call them. Why would you wonder if they would respond to a prospective customer or not?

    Chrome would absolutely be bad.

I think they don't show a pic because they feel if they did people would just use their design and build their own. I'm having a log home built right now and when we went to look at the models they don't let you take pics for the same reason.

Holy shit, looked at the home page and those boys are making trailer hitch's like it is going oot of style. Strange they did not list your year but I can't see it not fitting your bike. Call them and ask for some info, in such a closed industry I bet they will bend over backwards to sell you one.

clique has nothing to do with it - this time anyway. The only person who ever cared to put a hitch on their VFR was birdseed/goforaride/banned/and about 14 other names as he kept coming back like a herpes flare up.

Thanks for all the input. Called Hitchusa and it should fit. I should of called before making a post but previous experience had me expecting my call to be answered by some young girl who knows nothing about bikes and would just tell me if it would fit a 96 they would have listed it.

as Tink said, Clique has nothing to do with it, I really don't like Tinker butr I am agreeing with him on this point. Anyway, Jonn, good luck with the hitch. Hope it works out for you. Personally I wouldn't put a hitch on my VFR,but hey, your bike....
