YAHOOOOOOO , well after a six months of looking for a bike , I just purchased a 2002 VFR with------------------------1900 miles for $4200 . Pristine condition. So I pick it up on the 20Th and I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas . The only mods to this bike is a taller smoked windscreen and a fender eliminator . So after market exhaust?????? or gut the originals ? OK so now its time to poor a TALLLLLL glass of scotch and smile .

Congrats on finding such a sweet bike.

Before you waist a lot of money on modifying your exhaust I hope you are
aware of the recent California noise law passed in 2010. Take a look . . .

California Senate passes Motorcycle Noise Law

Sorry, I don't want to rain on your parade but if I were you I would leave it stock.

As the old stickers use to say about dirt bikes . . . "Noise Annoys"

    Contrats!

Ride it for a season then decide on mods. You'll have a much better idea on what you'll want to do.

As far as this law... I think he'll be ok If I'm reading it right.

"It would apply to motorcycles and after-market parts from the 2013 model year forward."

Wow, what a great find. It's barely broken in. If you're looking for a cheap performance boost, why not add 2 or 3 teeth to the rear sprocket? Also, check for the updates for this bike. I believe there were at least a couple. Definitely post the pictures so we can share in the joy!
