Picking up my new to me 02 VFR 800 on my way down to San Antonio, Texas with a few friends and wondering what part of Texas or the coastline I NEED to ride. Its the last full week in Febuary so I'm wondering what the weather is like then and if there is any sights I shouldn't miss on the way. My bud is bringing his 04 vfr on the trip too and we really enjoy a good 800 - 1000km day so even if its a good trek let me know. Cheers from Toronto

Start praying to the weather gods. The entire U.S., including Texas and everything north to Canada, has been getting some funky weather this year. Snow in the south and north. Sub-zero temps everywhere else except Cali and the deep south. Take that back, I think even northern Florida has got some snow this year.

Lived in Texas for several years. The weather is iffy..Gives the TV weatherites the heebie-jeebies. Seen it snow and be 85F on Christmas day. Not on the same day...LOL..

The distances between cities is a real hike. Traffic in Houston is a bitch. Austin is some fun as is "the hill country". If you have time and the weather is good. Try New Orleans.. Nothing like it..

Thanks for the advice so far. Never been to Texas before so even a few directions or street/highway names or numbers would be much appreciated. Even a good bar or restaurant near San Antonio area ?

I suggest "The Lone Star Inn" in Waco, for a really good steak. You might luck out and snag one of the little cute Baptist chicas from Baylor that thinks oot is cute.

In Texas terms, Waco is "purty dang close" to San Antone.
