White VFR

well im about to put a deposit down on a limited edition white vfr800

its pearl white, with a black top on it,

its 11/10 plated, here in australia, but a 2011 model.

the dealer tells me, only 10 got into australia, how true is that?

 

That color scheme is bad ass. Definitely an improvement over the 2006 white.

 

yeah, just gota finalize the loan, and see if i can get some accessories thrown in, like a ventura rack

That was the only colour it came in in 2009 here in Canada. But I think the dealer is giving you a line when he says it is plated as a 10-11 but really a 2011 model. The 2010 was the start of the 7th gen was it not? I don't remember exactly where, but the year of the vehicle is actually included in the VIN somewhere. I would have to go back to my books to find out where. But you should be able to figure that out by looking at the VIN. Regardless, if it has no mileage on it, then for all intents and purposes it is new. There is one on my dealership floor brand new listed about $6,000 less than what I paid for my 06.

I just haven't warmed up to that black on the tank yet. I love it on the bottom of the faring, but the tank reminds me of a confused skunk. Love the white wheels but yeah, you are going to spend some time keeping them clean. I haven't got enough time for that. The way I ride, I would be washing the bike every day. My commute is 100 miles round trip and with the exception of the last 1 1/2 months, I have been riding almost every day since August 2006.

 

You'd just have to hire TC full time...lol

tc = toe cutter. A renowned member on this site. He's in CA and is kind enough to wash anyone's bike that stops by for a pint or two.

I really like that paint scheme - definitely sharp looking. Probably my favorite - next to a yellow 5th Gen, of course. White wheels are sweet, but they will definitely get dirty.

I think Randy is correct - 2010 was the start of the 7th Generation which is a completely different bike, so unless your dealer meant its "new" because it has no miles on it, he's full of it.

The VIN plate is frickin huge if it says Nov 2010 it is a 2011 model it's easy to check. Why would the dealer lie when it will be on the plate and the registration docs?

 

The automotive industry, in the western economy anyways, many years ago standardized the VINs on all motor vehicles manufactured in an attempt to combat auto theft and illegal registrations. Every number, letter or sequence thereof has meaning for something.

In part, here is how to decode the VUN of a vehicle. These instructions are specific to Honda Motorcycles:

Locate the 10th character. This letter or digit represents the year the motorcycle was manufactured. A "6" would represent 2006, while a "Y" would represent the year 2000. The letter code descends from "Y" to "A" (1980).

 

with someone that had white wheels on a previous bike, they ARE a huge PITA to keep clean. I gave up after a while. Granted it only takes a minute or two to wipe them down, but....

 

well its a vfr800, but its the 2011 paint scheme, the model i dont thinks been changed since 06 but im sure u guys would know this, its not a 1200, its the 800, the model is being discontinued. so will probably be the last year of the 800s

I like the black on the tank, but I'd get some 3M protective film to cover that area of the tank. Black shows scratches like crazy (white, on the other hand, hides scratches really well). ...good looking bike!

down right freakin sexy...and yeah TOECUTTER is from mad max the funny part is TOECUTTER here on the forum looks like TOECUTTER from the movie...its.............kinda scary...and the rule is if you ride for over 1000 miles to get to where TOE is he will was your bike... I rode 150 to get to a party and all he did for me was hand me a beer......LOL

 

Thats pretty dam,n hot6 should have been available state side LOL they would have sold more if they had, LOL remember the day back when Honda made like 3-4 different colored CB350s. Sharp bike, pick it up before someone else does. Oh yea, White wheels Rock!
