Mid-sixty degrees on Jan 28, can't beat it! GuitarX's '06, driverdave's '07, and havcar's '08, pretty cool to have these three bikes together! I love that burgundy color, nice find Dave!

Ah you noticed that did you? Quite appropriate considering the rest of the day's activities lol! There were actually two cop cars parked there with a space in between. I totally wanted to get all 3 bikes in that space and take some pics. :)

Was the decimal point after the first or second number? ;-)

Nice pics, GuitarX! It was a pretty good day...a little scary pushing myself, trying to keep up with you...but, I had fun. Not bad for a "throw it together at the last second" sorta ride. It was good meeting you guys. BTW, I noticed they weren't getting that Busa started, when we left. Hope he didn't have to get it towed.

Looks like I won't be doing that Saturday ride...plans change again.

Getting too many Dave's around here.

I can keep up with havcar at the lunch buffet. I wouldn't even try on the street.

Hey Dave, that's a beautiful bike you got - absolutely my favorite color on the 6th Gen. Please don't ever feel like you have to keep up and definitely don't push yourself to do it. As you could tell, when havcar takes off I just ride my own ride and don't even try to keep up with that fast bastid. We'll all catch up to each other before long and there's no need to worry that you'll get left behind. Just enjoy the ride!

That was a bummer about the 'Busa. I hope that guy was okay and not just feeling the adrenalin. I was real worried about his ribs. That's why I didn't let him help lift the bike. His breathing seemed kind of strained. I didn't realize they couldn't start it back up. Probably because it was on its side for a while. I'll bet they finally got it going. I think some bikes actually have some kind of switch or something that doesn't let them start after they've been down and you have to do something to reset it.

The ride tomorrow will be a tamer pace so if you can make it that would be awesome. You'll really like these folks. They're a lot of fun.

Tinkerin, not only can you keep up with havcar at the buffet (and that's saying something), but you can ride circles around him on the road! Don't be so modest. Sorry about the decimal comment...I just couldn't resist the sweet setup.

No worries  I dish it as much as anyone around here and am fully prepared to take some back.

I suppose I could ride circles around him - while he's stopped to fuel up at the pump.

If I hadn't already committed to a Dual Sport ride down in Deckers, I'd be trying to buy an invitation to your Saturday ride.

Yeah, but it's supposed to snow and get cold again next week. :-(
Oh well, gotta take advantage of the nice days when we can.

That would be awesome if you guys come out here. Give us some warning and we'll make plans to take you on some nice roads.

I hit the ground 3x with the DR650. I wasn't the only one. Some of the slushy, icy, rutted, and muddy forest service roads were quite challenging. Fortunately nothing is broken. One guy had a helmet cam and will be making a video. We'll see if he got anything good.

Cool pictures! I've never done the dirt thing but it looks like a lot of fun! We had a great ride today, doing 7 out of Lyons and back. Love those fast sweepers! :)

can get yourself a licensed dual sport in good shape for $2k. Hundreds of miles of forest service roads to explore. They are made to tip over. Highly recommend it.

Sorry to take so long in posting, yesterday was hectic. Anyway thanks for all of the pics, and thanks for the great ride. I'm so glad we were able to get out, in January nonetheless. I just saw that Tuesday's high is going to be 0 with a low of -14. That would be sweet if Reg and Drewl can make it up here, love to go for a few rides with you gents.

I'm back to the buffet, I think BBQ will be on today's menu.

Just looked at your pics, Tink. Makes me think I should take up the dirt riding again.

you know. I ride in the dirt also and I really like it, BUT... It is a pain in the ass loading up, driving out to somewhere where the tree huggers haven't managed to ban you, then riding. It sure is fun though to load up a camper, cooler, pickup with bikes, and hit the mts for some dirt trails.

That's precisely why I stopped doing it in the first place. It seemed like if it wasn't one headache, it was another. Maybe the dual-sport thing would make it easier.
