So a question for the folks. My 2002 VFR needs new shoes. Last set were the new Pirelli Angels and I will strongly advise everyone to stay away from them. 2000 miles had a flat spot and 3500 miles with the rear has metal coming thru. Have run Pilot Road 2CT with great success, but a little pricey. A buddy is trying Dunlop D616 on his F800S. Most everything I have seen on them is good. ANybody with experience? Or other opinions or recomendations? Thanks to all replies

Others will argue this but Metzler M-3 is a good tire. Around town maybe a 3-4k tire but ran my last set oot to 5400 miles and there was enough left that another member put them on his bike and is running them today. Put that set on before last SLO (April) and they took me to the Dakota's, Denver, Vegas, Long Beach, Sacramento,Moto GP ,Calistoga flat track races with Reg,local rides, and then to Long's (San Diego) before I replaced them (October). Never see them on Cycle Gear special's but they do not cup like the Dunlop's do that you get for cheap. My two cents. (M-5's on it now)

I have the dunlop roadsmarts on my 99. I have around 3500 miles on them mostly backroads sport touring with some longer trips. The tires measure at just above half tread depth. I love the dual compound design of the rear and they have really good grip. Theres no squaring off on the rear but i do tend to stay away from hitting the slab. I highly recommend the tires.

Haven't heard much about Dunlop's cupping... any one else had that experience? I will admit to being attracted to the Dunlops in a big way based on price. Got another buddy with a GSXR he tours with(nuttier than squirrel poo) who swears by Avons. Any suggestions are great. Ready to try something new this season.

Whats the best tire is like asking whats the best beer.
Based on your last tire and other comments. Take a look at the bridgestone bt023. $, performance, etc. Seems to be a good balance.

I ride bt 016 heard lots of good things about Q2. Dont think either would be a great trouring tire though.

Found good prices on othe and they seem to be comperable in the sub $250 a set accross multiple sites.

The Skeeter, much difference in the 190/55's over the 180 in terms of handling? Thinking about doing the same thing and wanted your opinion.
